 TRANSPORTATION

  • Airport: Silver Springs Airport is near the intersection of U.S. Highway 50 and Highway 95A. It is a pubic facility serving general aviation. 350 acre industrial site with 7,200 ft. by 50 ft. paved runway.   • Rail: Southern Pacific Railroad maintains an active spur line through Silver Springs.
  • Truck: 15 miles from 1-80 via 95A. 60 regional, local and national carriers: UPS, Federal Express.

LOCATION

Nevada Highway U.S. 50 and 95A, and a network of interstate highways, an international airport and a cross-country rail line place silver Springs just hours away from anywhere in the western marketplace. Eighty percent of the major markets in the eleven western states are urban center (Reno and Carson City), Silver Springs offers accessible overnight.

Nevada has low taxes
Nevada's tax structure continues to be one of the least burdensome in the United States. Unlike most other states, Nevada does not impose a corporate income tax, personal income tax, franchise, inventory, unitary, chain store, admissions, inheritance, special intangible, and estate or gift tax. The sales/use tax in Lyon County is 6%, with no tax on food for home use or on prescription drugs. Lyon County's appealing tax structure provides an excellent choice to many.

At an elevation of 4,200 feet, the area is typical of basin and range typography. Temperatures rarely reach extremes with moderate temperatures and averaging over 300 days of sunshine. Average annual precipitation is 4.44". Temperature averages in January are 46 degrees, with July averages at 92 degrees. The annual snowfall is 10." Todays forecast.
